Cholesterol-Regulating Genes Identified By Scientists
Scientists at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the University of Heidelberg, Germany, have come a step closer to understanding how cholesterol levels are regulated. In a study published in the journal Cell Metabolism, the researchers identified 20 genes that are involved in this process. Breast Cancer Help, Inc. Attends National Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Advocacy Conference In Washington, D.C.

As part of its community outreach, Breast Cancer Help, Inc. attended the annual National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) conference, which was held May 2-5 at Washington, D.C. Representatives of Breast Cancer Help, along with hundreds of other activists, met at the nation"s capital to meet with elected officials who are responsible for the majority of the funding for breast cancer research. The conference was held to challenge the newly elected leaders in Washington to create the changes necessary to ensure the much-needed funding for research and access to quality care. Lorraine Pace, Co-President, Breast Cancer Help, Inc. and John Pace Esq., Board Member, Breast Cancer Help, Inc., met with U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York to advocate for his support for the funding necessary to continue the much-needed research to find a cause and a cure for breast cancer. Lorraine also met with Fran Visco, President of NBCC. Lorraine and Fran both share the same mission. Their approach to advocacy includes promoting education and awareness of the disease, working to bring about positive changes in the community, raising funds to help ensure that everyone has access to the best possible medical care. Both Lorraine and Fran understand the role the political process plays in our mission to end breast cancer. Breast Cancer Help, Inc.
